You can travel by car, bike or bus and have fun throughout Gilbert as well as our surrounding communities. Consider seeing the desert in a new way.
ATV/UTV/Hummer Tours
3 to 4 hours — Any of these tours will give you an adrenaline rush like no other. You will race through the desert, climb rocks, and see the desert like you’ve never seen it before. Bike Riding
2 to 3 hours — Gilbert is known as a bicycle-friendly community and it is easy to see why with over 135 miles to get around with, all known as the Central Trail System. You can ride bikes on over 60 miles of marked bike trails and there are many trails that run along the canal system throughout Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe. These trails are a great way to see a lot of each city while experiencing the unique local culture. Many of the trails include historic interpretive signs and benches, each of which relates to a historic fact regarding the trail system. If you don’t have your own bike, we have plenty of locations where you can rent a bike for a couple of hours, for the day, or for your entire stay. Wildlife Observation
2 to 3 hours — Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch has established itself as a premiere bird sanctuary. Over 273 different species of birds have been sighted, including a Streak-backed Oriole, a Groove-billed Ani, and a Prairie Warbler, just to name a few. Birding isn’t the only attraction. Wander the paths and view rabbits, lizards, and many other forms of wildlife.
Glamping
Time varies on your stay — Campsites are available for glamorous camping, fondly refered to as “glamping.” This takes camping to a whole new level of sophistication. Horseback Riding
30 to 90 minutes — Ride with a wrangler and experience the desert firsthand. Horses are matched with riders based on experience levels and the fun can range from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Golf
2 hours (varies) — Gilbert is home to five golf courses ranging in skill level, but always providing a challenge and lots of fun. Topgolf is another option that takes golf to an entirely new level.

Time varies – Gilbert is known for their many wonderful parks and dedication to family quality time. You can find soccer, football, and baseball fields, along with skateboarding, flying disc, fishing, and even parks for your dog (rated as one of the top five dog parks in the US).
